Out here the good girls die

Q: What is the song of the decade?

A: The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" (03). A seven-note riff transcends the Billboard charts to become an international sports anthem.

I also considered Ratatat's timelessly fresh "Seventeen Years" (04).

Ben suggested "Hey Ya!" (03), but I cannot listen to it anymore. Overplay spoiled "Hey Ya!" for me.

Bands I won't listen to because their name is too stupid:
» The Airborne Toxic Event
» CunninLynguists
» Mew

» Hester Prynne
» Sex Magician
» Desiring Dead Flesh

K'Jon is an R&B artist.

I thought his stage name was like Flo Rida's, that he was from Louisiana.

He's from Detroit.

His birth name is Kelvin Johnson.

I wonder why he deleted the "h" in his stage name. It should be K'Jo'n.

Muse's new single evokes Mechanical Animals-era Marilyn Manson.

How did "We Didn't Start the Fire" become a number one hit? The chorus is awkward and inert, and the lyrics are a list.

—why was barenaked ladies' "one week" a hit?
—why is nerdcore a scene?
—white people love songs that reference culture

By yer "Seven Nation Army" logic, "Zombie Nation" by Kernkraft 400 must be part of the discussion.

Dude, you just let a techno song into the Song Of The Decade debate.

    I hope you're happy.

I thought the same thing when I first discovered Mew but now they're one of my favorites. Give them a chance!
