2012 Sundance U.S. Documentary Competition:

Detropia (Directors: Heidi Ewing, Rachel Grady) — The woes of Detroit are emblematic of the collapse of the U.S. manufacturing base. This is the dramatic story of a city and its people who refuse to leave the building, even as the flames are rising.

Another documentary about Detroit not feeling sorry for itself? By my count, that's six¹ in two years, with a seventh currently in production.

Oh, but Detropia is from the directors of Jesus Camp.

Whenever a contestant on Chopped adds truffle oil to a dish, the judges gasp and cringe and excoriate the chef, like he or she just raped a child. If truffle oil is so toxic, why is it produced, and why is it available for use? By stocking truffle oil in the pantry, Chopped's producers indirectly sabotage contestants.
