So.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

I laughed when, just as he's about to kiss Keira Knightley, Johnny Depp notices that his palm is hairy.

Between Pirates and Superman, I'm convinced that visual effects in cinema are regressing. They should at least look better than Terminator 2, which, 15 years after its release, remains my standard by which visual effects are judged.

Give Industrial Light and Magic credit, however, for its shiny, slimy creatures. Both Davey Jones and the Kaminoans in Attack of the Clones impressed.

Hans Zimmer needs to lay off the organ for the Pirates 3 score. I kept expecting Dracula or the Phantom of the Opera to appear.

Pirates 3, Spider-Man 3, Shrek 3 — methinks May 2007 will be mighty profitable for Hollywood.

I hope I'm still alive then.

On the drive home from the theatre, I saw a bumper sticker that read: "Coding is not a crime."

[pause]

But coding itself isn't a crime; it's a universally-accepted practice.

Right?
