Don't shoot shoot shoot that thing at me

Ken:

In what is quite possibly the best wrestling-related news of the century, Randy "Macho Man" Savage is going to be a castmate in the new season of the Surreal Life. Rumor has it that he's going to be bunking with Carrot Top.

If true, what a rebound from a dismal sixth season.

The rest of the cast reportedly includes:
World Champion of Poker Phil Hellmuth
Type O Negative front man Peter Steele
a member of the Blue Man Group
Playboy Playmate Tina Jordan
and actor Dabney Coleman [source]

I feel there is potential in a variation on Robert Smigel's Baby, Immigrant and Guy on Mushrooms skit with Randy Savage, the Kool-Aid Man and Lil' Jon.

"Oooh yeah!"
"Oh yeah!"
"Yeeeeeah!"

Throw in Vader for added amusement.

"Noooooooooo!"

D-Generation X will reportedly reunite at WWE's Vengeance pay-per-view on June 25th. [source]

While seeing a 41-year-old Shawn Michaels and a 37-year-old Triple H do crotch chops is a wee bit disconcerting, DX played a prominent role in the wrestling boom of the late 90s, and nostalgia sells.

Interestingly, the last and only other time WWE revived DX was right after its revival of the nWo collapsed. Triple H convinced Shawn Michaels to reform DX on Raw and then turned on him later that night to set up a main event at SummerSlam.

Vince McMahon's weekly, hour-long revival of ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) premieres June 13 on Sci-Fi Channel.

Sci-Fi Channel officials want "aliens" on the show to appease Sci-Fi fans who are outraged [about] wrestling programming on the channel. [source]

I'm not sure what's more absurd: that a channel itself has fans and that they're outraged or that Sci-Fi's response is "aliens."

Moreover:

There will be a vampire group in the promotion. [source]

"Aliens" and vampires, eh? Well, Vince achieved some success with The Brood. Vampires and flaming barbed wire bats though…
